ASEAN ENMAPS Team and UNDP Convene Pre-Inception Meeting in Preparation for Project Launch and Workshop

As a prelude to the upcoming launch and Inception Workshop of the project “Effectively Managing Networks of Marine Protected Areas in Large Marine Ecosystems in the ASEAN Region” (ASEAN ENMAPS), the project’s management team from the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) held a pre-inception meeting with representatives from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Bangkok Regional Hub on 5 June in Alabang, Philippines.

The meeting aimed to update and review the responsibilities for monitoring project strategies and other relevant management protocols, ensuring a cohesive approach to the project’s objectives. This session also served as preparation for the First Meeting of the Project Steering Committee of ASEAN ENMAPS.

ASEAN ENMAPS is a regional initiative designed to enhance the management of networks of marine protected areas and marine corridors within selected large marine ecosystems in the ASEAN region. The project is implemented by the UNDP, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), and executed by the ACB in collaboration with the governments of Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand.
